"You need to double down on your resolve."
This morning, after hearing the final result of the election, I called my dad to cry. Knowing his lifelong history as an educator and his deep sense of purpose as a leader within public school administration, I knew he would give me a sense of hope, comfort and wisdom that I so desperately needed and will continue to need in these coming days. He calmed me down and said he was on his way to go speak with his students at Medgar Evers College and give them a place to mourn. "Dad, what will you say to them? What can you say at a time like this? What do we do?" As soon as he began to talk, I felt the urge to record what he was about to say. Click the image to hear our conversation.
